The Alberta Lacrosse Association and the Edmonton Razorbacks Lacrosse Club are delighted to host the 2022, U19 Women’s Field Lacrosse National Championship in Sherwood Park, Alberta from August 16-19, 2022! We look forward to the opportunity to host teams from across Canada for four days of great competition, camaraderie on and off the field, and lots of western hospitality!
Owing to the global pandemic, 2022 will see the return of the U19 Women's Field Lacrosse National Championship for the first time since 2019. The 2022 Championship will take place at the Emerald Hills Sports Pavilion, which boasts stadium seating, an artificial turf field, four full-sized change rooms and more! The National Championship will begin with an Opening Ceremony on August 16, followed by 3 days of game play as Canada's top female field lacrosse athletes vie for the Jenny Kyle Cup.
The Opening Ceremonies will recognize the Indigenous roots of lacrosse through blessings, song and dance. The event will also support the Every Child Matters campaign and its focus on Truth and Reconciliation.
For those who have never played field lacrosse, the Championship will also include a free women's field lacrosse "come and try it," clinic.
The Championship will culminate with medal round games on the morning of Friday, August 19.
Admission to all of the National Championship events is free. The public is welcome to attend.
